Restorative Dentistry

Keeping your mouth functioning at a high level is important. You need it to speak, smile, and, most important, eat. If you lose the functionality of your mouth, restorative dentistry can give it back. Dr. Boyle will repair the damage that has been done and return your smile for the world to see.

Understand Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is not a recognized dental specialty. Instead, it draws upon different techniques and procedures that are used to restore the function and appearance of your mouth. Dr. Boyle will use appropriate dental treatments to keep your natural teeth healthy, replace any missing teeth with natural-looking alternatives, and restore the function, feel, and look of your smile.

Choose the Best Restorative Option

Restorative dentistry can include a number of techniques to restore both the function and appearance of your smile. With that being said, some services are used more frequently than others, including:

  • Dental Implants – These are replacement tooth roots that act as an anchor for a replacement tooth, or crown, as well as for a bridge or dentures.
  • Crowns and Bridges – Some teeth do not need to be removed but rather just reinforced. A dental crown from Dr. Boyle will protect your damaged tooth from further harm. A dental bridge will fill the gap left in your smile after a tooth has been lost to injury, disease, or decay.
  • Inlays and Onlays – Inlays are partial crowns that are placed on the inside biting surface of your tooth. Onlays are placed on the outer biting surface.
  • Root Canals – Saving your tooth may require the removal of the nerve within. Root canals are an effective treatment for infected dental nerves.
  • Dental Fillings – Tooth decay will steal your teeth quickly. Let Dr. Boyle save your teeth by removing the decay and filling the void that is left.
  • Veneers – Primarily a cosmetic fix, veneers do have restorative value in the case of cracked or broken teeth. Bonding a veneer to the damaged tooth can shore it up structurally and protect it from further damage.

Don’t Fear Root Canals

Root canals do not hurt at our office. The amount of pain you will feel is directly linked to the amount of numbing agent we use. Dr. Boyle is careful to listen to you and makes sure that you are comfortable throughout the process.

Know the Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants fuse to your jawbone and create a base that is just as stable as a natural tooth root would be. They also help prevent your jawbone from deteriorating over time.
